About Me
Hello! My name is Claire McDaniel. As it relates to school, I am an Accounting Major minoring in Writing Practices. As I write this, I am a senior and master's student simultaneously. Next fall, I will be continuing my study of accounting and finishing my masters. Something which has really informed my experience as a student and person is the fact I have moved around a lot in my life. In order to illustrate this, I've created a little roadmap to explain where I have lived, what I have learned and how I apply that today.

Australia
Lesson Learned: Own it
I moved to Australia at the young impressionable age of 8. The time where insecurities begin to creep in, and left at just shy of 17, when they are in full force. It was during these formative years, growing up as an expat in a foreign country with an accent completely different to everyone else's, that I learned that whatever you got just own it.

Missouri
Lesson Learned: Embracing Change
I moved to St. Louis in January 2020 just a few short weeks before the entire world shut down because of the pandemic. While everything I owned was stuck on a containership, I was navigating the U.S. education system online from a yoga ball in my bedroom after only having one week of in-person school. The rapid succession of changes was welcome however, because I learned that momentum is the key to embracing change.

Colorado
Lesson Learned: Have Fun
Attending the University of Denver was a no brainer. I instantly fell in love with the school and never had a moment of doubt while I was here. You can think of the obvious ways to have fun in Colorado, skiing, hiking, etc. But it was in Colorado I learned that you can always have fun if you have the right mindset.
